The clocks have changed, the weather is warming up slowly and the spring flowers are cheering us up after the long winter.
Easter brought a mixed bag of weather, but we had hot cross buns and chocolate eggs to lift our spirits.
Did you buy your dog a special Easter egg made from carob or some doggie hot cross buns?
Do Not Do This Under Any Circumstances
Human chocolate is very bad for animals, especially dogs, and can prove fatal. It is the cocoa in human chocolate that is dangerous and all animal chocolate treats should be made from carob.
Always give these and other treats in moderation, you know what they say “A moment on the lips lifetime on the hips”. This applies to your pet as well as us.
The time is fast approaching when we need to plan and plant hanging baskets and containers, and these can be protected from any late frost. Borders need to be prepared and they can be planted after the risk of frost has past.
We offer a wide range of plants and accessories to help you have colourful displays.
Are you still feeding the birds? They are busy pairing up, building nests and preparing for their young, so a good source of food is essential to help them. Always provide fresh water and don’t forget to clean the feeders and bird tables regularly to help prevent diseases spreading.
Last month I said I would introduce some of the other animals I live with. Now you have already met Mitch the terrier haven;t you?
Along with him, we have Milo the cat, who is pictured below on the right. He is a fat lazy cat and likes nothing better, than food and sleeping! He quite often brings little gifts home, but my owner isn’t always that pleased with them.
Apparently she says we have enough animals in the house with out the added mice!
Mitch and me went camping over the Easter holiday, to some place called The New Forest, which didn’t look very new to me, some of those trees looked like they’d been there for years!!
It was very wet & muddy on our campsite, but the pub we went to in the evening was warm & dry!
So now you’ve met Mitch and Milo, next month I’ll introduce you to the ferrets.
