As we approach the festive season, here are some thoughts for you and your pets.
While a small amount of human food may well be included in your pet’s diets, it is sometimes better to stick to its normal food. Try to keep to your animal’s normal routine too, so if they usually go for a walk early in the morning they will probably still be looking to be let out at that time.
Also please spare a thought for your pets over Christmas and don’t leave them out of the family celebrations. We have a wide range of Christmas toys and treats for your pets or perhaps you’d like to treat them to a new bed. Most dogs and cats enjoy being part of the present opening and so try including them in the fun.
The wild birds also need to be looked after too. If you feed them they normally become reliant on the food you are putting out. Daily fresh water for them is also important, especially if it freezes.
Hello, my name is Woody. I am a black labrador and am six years old. Here I am pictured with my mum.
I have been coming to the shop since I was eight weeks old, although I sometimes get to go and help my dad with his building company, especially when he has a large job on and needs my advice!
I have seen and heard a lot while I’ve been coming to the shop, humans are very interesting. As we get to know one another I might share some of my experiences and stories with you.
I learned from a very early age that if I look sad and forlorn with my big sorrowful eyes people give me treats. I always remember the people that have given me something and get off my bed in the shop to greet them.
I live with another dog and will introduce him to you over the next couple of months. I may also include the cats and ferrets too! Until next year …
