As we move into March we all hope that the weather improves.
The snowdrops were at least three weeks late this year so the garden season could be late. Although Mother Nature seems to put things right and catch up and provide all the colour and scents we sometimes take for granted.
Some of us are old enough to remember winters (like the one we’ve had this year) happening most years, with plenty of snow and frost being the norm.
As the mornings and evenings get lighter, the walks can get longer. It is a good time to check your dogs collar and lead and any other equipment you use. You should always make sure the collar fits properly and that its not too tight or too worn.
The lead should be checked also for wear and tear, so that it is strong enough if your dog pulls against it.
Important:
Has your dog got an identity disc? It is a legal requirement for them to have one, including your name, address including postcode & telephone number. We have a selection of products including bones discs and hearts which we can engrave while you wait.
You can be fined up to £5000.00 if your dog is found without ID in a public place, and even if your dog is micro chipped it still needs to have visible ID.
Don’t forget to buy your Doggie hot cross buns & Easter eggs too.
January and February have been busy months in the shop despite all the bad weather.
Mr Phil, the owner, has been happy with the amount of wild bird food they have been selling.
I heard him telling someone about an article he was reading in one of the trade magazines. A company wanted to advertise for “hard working reliable staff” but were told they couldn’t because it might be deemed offensive to unreliable people! What is the world coming too?
Next month I will introduce you to the other animals I live with.
