This month brings us bonfire night with its firework displays, this can upset our pets.
They can become very distressed during this time. Cover up or move inside rabbits and guinea pigs. Cats should be kept in if they show signs of distress. Some dogs and cats become very disturbed & agitated during this period.
There are products that can help reduce the symptoms without sedation, but most require forward planning. It might be worth trying to train your pet to accept the noises.
There are recordings that can be played back to your pet, starting with
low-level sound, and then increasing the volume so that they accept the noise.
This is VERY important…
If you are having your own display and bonfire please check the area for hedgehogs and other small rodents that might be in the vicinity.
Now the clocks have changed and the days are getting shorter you may have to walk your dog in the dark. Do you wear light reflective clothing?
Better still a hi-viz jacket or waistcoat. Does your dog have a hi-viz coat or a flashing collar; it’s worth thinking about both. The flashing collars are very good and are visible up to 300 metres. Keep you and your pet safe.
Christmas is approaching fast. The television is full of advertisements to help us enjoy the festivities, don’t forget your pet – we have a wide range of toys and treats all with a festive theme.
Have you got an Advent calander to start opening at the beginning of December? Well your cat and dog could have one to so they don’t feel left out.
And Don’t Forget our Feathered Friends
The wild birds will become more reliant on food and water we are putting out as the temperatures drop & days shorten.
The natural food they have been eating will be in short supply, so a good diet of high-energy food will be much appreciated. This will of course give you a good display of wildlife in your garden.
If you find it difficult getting into us we can deliver your orders to you. Ring or e-mail your requirements and we will arrange delivery for you.
I am back to work full time now, we went to the hospital last week and they are pleased with my progress. I have to build up the muscles now in my hip and leg.
I am still having hydrotherapy; it does make my coat very fluffy. I am glad to be back and see all the nice customers that buy Apple and me treats.
Want Your Pet To Win A Prize?
